APPLICATION PROCESS
Thank you for your interest in attending Peace Lutheran School for the
2010-2011 school year. We are committed to providing an educationally
challenging program in a Christ-centered environment where students and their
families feel valued and accepted. All students on campus enjoy individual
Bible classes, weekly chapel services and ongoing community service projects.
We are committed to offering a culturally diverse Christian community. To
accomplish this, our International Student Program will host up to 10 students
in grades 1-8 annually. Peace Lutheran will work in cooperation with approved
agencies specializing in assisting families who want their students to
participate in a Christian study-abroad program in the United States.
ADMISSION PROCESS
Families and/or their agency representative are responsible for the following:
1. Submit an International Student Application Form. (PDF)
A non-refundable
international application fee must be included. It must be disclosed if
applicant is currently in the United States on a B2 visitor VISA or if the
applicant has attended another school in the United States on an F1 student
VISA prior to making application to Peace Lutheran School.
2. English proficiency requirement. These must be submitted with the
International Student Application Form.
Students applying for grades 5-8:
Provide a DVD with the applicant speaking in English for three minutes. This
is required to assess the applicant’s English proficiency in relation to the
grade level they are applying for.
In addition, each applicant is required to write a 100-200 word
(auto-biography) essay in English.

Students applying for grades 3-4:
Provide a DVD with the applicant telling or reading a story in English for two
minutes. In addition, each applicant is required to write a 50-75 word
(auto-biography) essay in English.

Students applying for grades 1-2:
Provide a DVD with the applicant telling or reading a story in English for two
minutes. In addition, each applicant is required to write out each letter of
the alphabet and counting numbers 1-30 in digits.

3. Obtaining an I-20 student visa prior to August 15th of the school year.
4. Arranging for home stay – Students in grades 1-2 must be placed with a
family where both English and the child’s native language is fluently spoken.
Students in grades 3-8 should be placed in homes where English is the primary
language spoken.
