ADMISSIONS POLICY

Peace Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in administration of it's educational policies, admission policies, and athletic or other administered programs.

For newly enrolled children entering Kindergarten through Grade 8, a readiness test will be administered as part of the placement process. This test will help us determine the best placement for the child and whether there are considerations that would interfere with the success of that child at Peace.

All children enrolling in Peace Lutheran School must be properly immunized as required by State law. Individuals entering Kindergarten must be five years old by August 31 st for fall placement.

CHAPEL SERVICES

Emphasis is placed on Christian growth at Peace Lutheran School. The means through which a child grows are daily devotions, prayer, Bible class, and a weekly chapel service. As the Word of God is applied, minds and hearts begin to view the world form a new perspective. Chapel is held on Wednesday at 8:30-9:00 AM. Parents and friends are cordially invited to attend and worship with us. A chapel offering is collected each week for special mission projects chosen by the student council.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline will at all times be guided by God's Word and administered in Christian love. In order to maintain the greatest academic and social growth for students, a system of positive, assertive discipline will be in force at all times. We want to teach children appropriate behavior so that they can be responsible Christians and public citizens.

In order to meet these goals students will participate in a behavior management program called "DAILY DISCIPLES."

This program is designed to foster positive, Christ-like behavior in dealing with each other, teachers, staff, and other adults with whom the students come into contact. Emphasis will be placed on positive behaviors and good decision-making skills.

Students who consistently demonstrate appropriate behavior will be eligible for our "SELF MANAGER" program.

This program seeks to recognize those students who act in a positive manner.

A more detailed description of this program can be found in the parent handbook.

  STUDENT PROGRESS REPORTS

Parents and teachers must establish a mutual understanding of the child's progress in all areas of development in order for the student to assess his/her own abilities. Periodic progress reports will be sent home approximately every three weeks. Formal report cards are issued at the end of each quarter with the grades reflecting the child's progress during the reporting period. Parent-teacher conferences are held at the end of the first and third quarters.
